Last Thursday, 26 April 2008, men and women from various sectors of walks of life converged at the Kairaba Beach Hotel for the monthly Gambia Business forum.
The forum, which is held during the tourist season, is organised by the Gambia Hotel Association (GHA). It takes place on the last Thursday of every month during this period. The event gives officials from the private and public sectors the opportunity to interact and share ideas.
At each forum, a speaker is invited to speak on a given topic. Last Thursday’s speaker was Alagie Basiru Gaye, director general of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority who spoke on the topic "Public Utilities Regulation in The Gambia".
