Yankuba Sonko the head coach of the struggling Jambanjelly FC blamed the lacklustre performance endured by his team in the ongoing league two championships, on the recent financial constraints affecting the club.
Coach Sonko made this brief statement just after a goalless draw with Serrekunda United last Saturday at the Serrekunda Mini Stadium. Jambanjelly FC now at rock bottom in the second division, has only collected one point in their last five league games prompting their imminent relegation to the third division.
Coach Sonko of the financially crippled Kombo South Club said to Pointsports, “Jambanjally FC is facing financial problems this season, and this is what is resulting in our poor performance since we only train twice a week”.
With all the dire straits adduced to by coach Sonko, he remained optimistic and confident to maintain a respectable performance to the end of the season.
On the other hand, Wahab Manneh, the head coach of Serrekunda United relished his team’s performance in collecting a point, since the match was well contested, and lamented that finishing was their main problem.
Both teams played their seventeenth match of the league and are struggling to garner maximum points to help them enhance their standing and avoid relegation.
