Iranian leader felicitates President Jammeh

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad, has felicitated the Gambian leader, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh.

This was revealed in a press release from the Office of the President.

The Iranian leader wrote:
His Excellency, Honorable Brother Dr Alhaji Yahya AJJ Jammeh, president of the Republic of The Gambia, Assalamou Aleikum Wa RahmatollahWa Barakatoh. I have the honour to extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency as well as to the government and the honourable Muslim people of The Gambia, on the occasion of your country's Independence Day.

I hope that with goodwill and common intention of the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of The Gambia, we will further the political, economical and cultural cooperation in bilateral, regional and international levels. I pray to the Almighty Allah for the health and success of Your Excellency, as well as prosperity and glory for the government and the people of The Gambia.
