IFAD Italy staff give to Sutukoba School

Help Hands of the IFAD Staff Association in Italy recently donated one hundred and thirty five thousand dalasis to Sutukoba Lower Basic School in Wuli East, Upper River Region.  

The money which came following a request by the school committee, will be used to purchase furniture and construct a kitchen for the school. Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of the association, Sanna Jatta and his wife Madam Yasmina Narka Jatta, stated that the association is committed to contributing to the welfare of the school children, adding that, the importance of education cannot be over emphasised.

They called on the school management to make best use of the funds and promised that their assistance will be extended to the needy schools in the region. Receiving the money on behalf of the school committee, the chairman of the school committee, Alhagie Amadou Kuntu Jatta, thanked the association for their generosity and assured them that the money will be put into good use.

Edirisa Danso, the headmaster of the school, hailed the efforts of the association for contributing towards the development of the school. He thanked Mr and Mrs Jatta for their benevolent gesture through their association. Other speakers included the Alkalo of Sutukoba, Kumintong Jabbai among others.
