Habitual Offender Gets Two Years

Demba Jobe, who had been convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment by former Magistrate Richards, was again convicted and sentenced on the 3rd December 2008 by Senior Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour for the same offence of stealing and breaking.

According to the charge sheet, the convict, Demba Jobe, on the 2nd December 2008 at the Serrekunda Sandika broke into the shop of one Aji Awa Cham with intent to commit a felony.

In count two the convict on the same day and place stole from the complainant 4 bedsheets valued at D1400, 10 curtains valued at D3600, 17 table cloths valuedD800, 25 chairs valued D400 and 65 textiles property of Awa Cham.

He pleaded guilty on both counts.

As a result, Magistrate Wadda-Ceesay passed sentence accordingly.
