GPA supports Armitage SSS refurbishment

The Gambia Ports Authority recently donated six hundred window glasses to Armitage Senior Secondary School in Janjanbureh, Central River Region.

This is to replace the broken glasses for the classroom doors and windows to make learning conducive for both teachers and students. Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the principal of the school, Ebrima M Joof, hailed the efforts of the Gambia Ports Authority for the support they have been rendering to the school.  He said since the inception of the school in 1927, they have never benefited such a donation.

He revealed that the GPA has embarked on major refurbishment in the school and this gesture will go a long way in complementing the government’s efforts in the refurbishment of the school. He called on other NGOs, individuals and charitable organisation to emulate the good gesture of GPA. Kaunding Tambedou, the chairman of the Board of governors of Armitage Senior Secondary School, thanked GPA for investing in education noting that investing in education means investing in the future. He called on the students to take great care of the glasses.
