The Gambia National Lottery (GNL) last Friday presented a cheque amounting to over D110,000 (One hundred and ten thousands dalasis) to four lucky winners at a presentation ceremony held at its headquarters in Kanifing.
The presentation ceremony also marks the last PMU jackpot for 2008. The winners, Hamadi Kebbeh, Numo Darboe, Abdou Cham and Muhamed Janneh each received a sum of D27,575 (Twenty-seven thousand five hundred and seventy five dalasis).
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Fabakary Jammeh, the marketing manager, GNL, said they were pleased to witness yet another jackpot presentation to four lucky winners. “GNL feels happy to pay its customers. During the Tobaski festivities, eight winners won a similar jackpot,” he said.
According to him, GNL will continued to play a pivotal role in poverty eradication by creating more job opportunities for Gambian youths. The GNL Marketing Boss further disclosed that his institution distributes nothing less than D150,000 daily to its customers but only organizes events when jackpots are won.
For his part, Dembo Fanta Bojang, the managing director of GNL, thanked the customers for their foresight in patronizing GNL. According to him, 95% of the sales clerks at GNL are youths under the age of 35 years, noting that this are all geared towards complementing government’s efforts in creating more job opportunities for Gambian youths.
