GFA Lauds Jammeh for U-17 Support

After a successful outing in the just concluded Africa U-17 championship which has resulted in The Gambia’s crowning as second-time African U-17 leaders, the Gambia Football Association could not forget the man behind the team’s success - President Yahya Jammeh).

In recognition of his efforts, GFA president SeedyMB Kinteh, in a letter of appreciation to Jammeh highlighted the important role he has played towards the development of Gambian football. Below is the full text of the letter:

It is a pleasure to send you my very best wishes, along with those of the newly crowned African U-17 Champions and their families for the warm reception and the life-changing present accorded to the team. We have all benefited from your loyal service to the nation and your important and outstanding contribution to the growth and progress of the Gambia Football Association.

For all the years, you have given generously of your expertise and experience to all categories of our national football teams and you have truly and genuinely earned the trust and respect of everyone in the football fraternity.

Mr. President, we share with you a well-deserved sense of accomplishment at having reached such an important milestone as the champions of African football and assure you of our never ending support and collaboration.

Sir, if we had an award to give, you would a surely be the key contender.

Please accept Mr. President our congratulation and our very best wishes for many more rewarding years at the Gambia Football Association.
