GFA Extends Gratitude to FIFA & Coca-Cola

Following the most anticipated historic visit of the prestigious World Cup Golden trophy in Banjul on October 6th the executive committee of he Gambia Football Association (GFA) have extended its gratitude to FIFA and Coca-Cola Company for brining the trophy to The Gambia.

The journey of the most prestigious cup in Banjul is part of the trophies tour to eighty-six countries around the globe.
According to GFA press release issued to the Pointsport, this will avail The Gambia football family and the general public the unique opportunity to see first-hand the FIFA World Cup trophy, the single most celebrated trophy in human history. 

The trophy will be displayed at the Independence Stadium in Bakau for public viewing on Wednesday October 7th 2009 after handing it over to H.E Sheikh Professor Alhagie Dr Yahya Jammeh, President of The Republic of The Gambia and Chief Patron of the Gambia Football Association.

“Thus, the management of The GFA invites all league clubs, football academies Scorpion’s fans club and SOS Children village - a FIFA partner to this historic event.

Furthermore, the FA urged all nawettan committees to suspend all nawettan matches scheduled on Wednesday October 7, 2009 to afford all and sundry the extraordinary opportunity to be part of this world cup history.
