Gambian Juvenile Player Invited by Portsmouth Academy

Mustapha Wadda, an 11-year-old Gambian footballer currently residing in the United Kingdom has been invited by Portsmouth FC to join the U-12 academic development Centre for a four-week initial training programme.

Born to Gambian parents, and fathered by Bye Malleh Wadda the former Gambia International, Mustapha currently plays for Arborfield Apaches in the Berkshire U-13 Youth League.

According to his father, who visited The Point offices yesterday, the left midfield playeris the second leading goal scorer in his club.

Mustapha’s training with the English Premiership academy will commence on Thursday January 8th, 2009.
