The members of the Gambia Professional Golfers Associations are preparing for a sub-regional golf tournament schedule to take place in Fixed between January 15 and January 18, the four-day event, according Alagie Drammeh, will gather both professional and amateur golfers from many sub-regional nations including Nigeria, Ghana and  host Senegal.

Drammeh, who is the head of the Gambia Professional Golfers Association, said the Dakar competition is a good platform for Gambian golfers to showcase their talents. He however lamented lack of sponsor, noting that he and his colleagues would have to dig deep into their own pocket to ensure that the trip matrialises.
“We are determined to go Senegal at our own cost because of the love we have for the game.”

“However, we would welcome any institution that would like to give us a helping a hand,” he said.
