Gambia Preparing for International Golf Trophy

Gambia Golf Club is currently on intensive training in preparation for an international golf tournament slated for 28 June 2009 in Senegal.

The Aziz Diye Trophy is expected to attract golfers from all West African countries.
Alhagie Drammeh captain of Gambia’s professional golfers revealed that it is their ambition to make golf more popular in the whole country and explained that golf can be played by anybody from 5 to 80 years, emphasising that it is an exercise like any other sporting game.

Dodou Kassama a senior golf car deck elucidated that golf is an individual game which can be played by everybody. He explained that golf is the fastest growing sport in the world today and thus urged Gambians to come and take part in the game.
