The National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala Honorable Sheriff Abba Sanyang has expressed great concern over what he described as in adequate availability of water in the settlement of Bwiam.
According to honorable Sanyang, water supply has become a major constraint in Bwiam as well as the rehabilitation of their mosque.
The Foni Kansala National Assembly Member made these remarks last Friday at a presentation of 40 bags of rice and 12 bags of onion to Bwiam flood victim.
He said that access to water supply has become a big challenge for the community for many years now and that several efforts has been put in place to address the situation but to no avail.
“Although there is a water tank but yet still distribution of the network is still a problem. We need water to reach out to people because water is a necessity and is a basic necessity in ones life”, he noted.
Commenting on the issue of Islamic education in the area, Sanyang said that his area has not been very much blessed with Islamic Institutes.
He then appealed to NGOs and individual philanthropists to come to their aid. “We felt that the world is going at a trend, which is not helpful to mankind. If Islamic schools are instituted then this will greatly help our children who are the future leaders of tomorrow”, he added.
