Essau Acting Alkalo Hails Youth

The acting Alkalo of Essau village in North Bank Region, Mr. Musa Sonko, has commended the youth of his village for their tremendous contribution to the development of the village and VDC, for their tireless efforts in developing the village and he urged them to keep up the momentum.

Lamin Sonko , the secretary Essau VDC, underscored the significance of training youths with skills which he said will enhance the lives of youths in the area.

He stated that youths and school dropouts should train enough with skills so that they can become productive and participate full in the development of the village and the country at large.

He further stated that the VDC also wishes to launch a venture in commercial agriculture and vegetable gardening in order to create employment opportunities for the youths and also discourage rural urban migration.

According to Mr. Sonko, youths are the future leaders of tomorrow and he appealed to Kerewan Area Council, philanthropists, donors, and NGOs to come forward and support the Essau Village Development Committee.

Mr. Yusupha Darboe, the chairman Essau Village Development [EVDC], said they are there for the development of the village , adding that the committee will do its level best to develop and improve the lives of youths in village and he urged them to rally behind APRC because the president is always engaged in youth empowerment.
