Director of OlympAfrica Speaks Out

Alfusainey Jarju the Director of OlympAfrica has said that the aims and objectives of the just ended volleyball competition was to foster unity and understanding among the youths of the Gambia and Senegal.

Mr Jarju made these remarks at the presentation of certificates and trophies to the winners of award in the three day volleyball competition that ended at Serrekunda East Volleyball lawn.

He further revealed that the competition was the first international organised competition at Serrekunda East Volleyball lawn and expressed optimism that the competition would go a long way in promoting and developing volley in the Gambia and Senegal respectively.

He hailed the president of Gambia Volleyball Association Musa Cassa Taal for providing them with referees and the training technical assistant during the competition.

For his part, the president of Ziguinchor Volleyball Club Yahya Njie expressed appreciation to OlympAfrica and the entire host country. He pointed out that the motive of the competition was to foster co-operation between the Gambia and Senegal.

According to Mr Njie they are also planning for another friendly match in July and in December they will be hosting a sub-regional volleyball competition in Casamance in Southern Senegal. Three Clubs from the Gambia namely Interior male and female, Armed Forces and Serrekunda East Volleyball team will be invited.
