D60,000 bail for NADA ‘thieves’

Omar Babucarr Jallow and Francis Silva were on Thursday arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Bundung Magistrates Court charged with stealing.

According to the particulars of offense, the accused persons, were on 23 October found stealing from the store of the National Agricultural Development Agency (NADA), located in Abuko.  The stolen items were valued at D106,283.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused persons in Wollof, they all pleaded not guilty. In his ruling the senior magistrate granted the accused persons bail in the sum of D60,000 with one Gambian surety.  The case was adjourned to 2 December 2008.
