Canon FC on Tuesday 8th September 2009 suffered yet another embarrassing defeat in Afriwood sponsored Ramadan Football Tournament, following their slander narrow 1-0 defeat in the hands of Churchill’s Town United FC, at Serrekunda Lower Basic School Playing Grounds.
The game attracted a large crowd from Serrekunda East and its surrounding areas.
Churchill’s Town United FC lone goal was netted by Baboucarr Jallow in the 13th minute of play from a spectacular shut that passed through Canon FC goalkeeper hand pit and hit the back of the net.
In the 14th minute, Canon was reduced to ten-man team when their goalkeeper, Omar Balajo was sent off for unsporting behaviour. Canon FC who drew two of the opening matches came all out and created some clear chances, but failed to capitalise on their scoring chances.
Churchill’s Town United FC stands at 3 points from three games, while Canon FC secured 2 points from three games.
Earlier on the same day, Pencha Bi FC drew 1-1 with Leeds FC, Pencha Bi FC goal was registered by Yankuba Jarju, while Leeds FC goal was netted by Sedia Ceesay.
Pencha Bi FC now has 4 points from three games and Leeds FC bagged 5 points from three games.
