The Gambian leader, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, yesterday morning received in audience Roger Haines, chief executive officer of Buried Hill Energy, a Canadian energy company, at State House, Banjul.
Speaking to journalists shortly after his audience with the Gambian leader, CEO Haines disclosed that he was at State House to give the president an update of their activities in The Gambia. He seized the opportunity to remind reporters that his company was awarded two offshore licences in 2007 for exploration in blocks A1 and A4. He noted that he updated President Jammeh on the developments on these blocks.
The Buried Hill CEO went on to reveal that since work commenced in The Gambia, a few years ago, they have been working hard, particularly in the areas of reprocessing of data and analysing sites that can build good geological modules of the offshore situation.
