Bravo Ambassador Wells

Editor,

I am an occasional reader of this wonderful newspaper, and interestingly each time I have an opportunity to read it, I come across something great that either the US ambassador to The Gambia or the embassy has done for my country.

Just recently, there was an award for the Black History Month essay competition winners, and, earlier, on your February 26 issue, the ambassador was reported to have given over 400,000 dalasi to some Gambian communities. He also delivered some lectures on education at the University of The Gambia some days back. These are just few of the wonderful services this man and his mission are rendering to my Mama Land.

I see him as a pan-Africanist because he has love for Africans at heart and has been doing things that other Africans in his position will not do. And by the way, a pan-Africanist does not have to be an African, in case anyone is wondering why I call him a pan-Africanist. In anyway, my prayers now are that Ambassador Wells stays longer than this to continue helping in the achievement of our Vision 2020 goals. I want to assure him that the whole nation will stand behind him in fulfilling his objectives. He deserves to be called a Gambian.

Thank you very much, Mr Ambassador. All good citizens of this country appreciate your work. May God shower his mercy and blessing on you and on the whole of the human race.
