Banjul Sports Committee Tough On Players For Unsporting Behaviour

Thursday, August 13, 2009

For failing to uphold the spirit of sporting behaviour, three players namely, Lamin Jallow, Sisawo Jagne and Ebrima Senghore, have faced the axe of the Banjul Sports Committee(BSC).

Lamin Jallow and Ebrima Senghore, who play for Late Kebba Demba and MIAMI FC, respectively, were both suspended by the committee for the rest of the season.

On Tuesday, 4th August 2009, Lamin Jallow, alias Baggio was caught in an unsporting and rude behaviour against their opponents Greenhouse.

According to the Banjul Sports Committee as a young talented player with lots of potential, he is expected to be disciplined and hardworking to improve his talent, but not to be attacking players willfully after matches.

The same applies to Miami’s Ebriama Senghore for using abusive language against the referee on Monday, 10th August 09, after their match against Elminite.

A ban was imposed on Dortmund player, Sisawo Jagne,  from all the activities of the committee, after hitting the referee and using abusive language against him.

As one of the senior players of the Nawetaan and Dortmund, BSC expected him to lead by good example, describing his behaviour as totally unacceptable.

“Trying to hit referees will never be condoned or accepted by the committee and this should serve as a warning to all the teams. Any player from any team who hit a referee will result in the player(s) and the team be dealt with heavily” the committee pointed out.
