Asia XI Close Gap in National Cricket League

Asia XI have now level points with potential winners, the Veterans, after beating them by 6 wickets during last weekends contest. Both sides are now standing at the top of the table at 9 points with the Veterans having an edge on the overall number of runs scored so far in the competition.

During the toughly contested Sunday game at the July 22nd Square,  the Veterans, who  registered their first defeat, batted first and recorded 210 runs in 30 overs for 5 wickets .

Asia XI scored 211 runs in 29.3 overs and five wickets.

The man of the match was Munal who recorded 42 runs for the Asian side. Jimmy Fabasen in six overs bowled 2 wickets and 39 runs.

In the current standings, Jewel of India is third with 6 points followed by GPA on 3 and Wallidan are last with no points.

The last game of the first round matches will feature GPA and Jewel of India on Sunday.
