Arrested NAWEC Collectors Charged

The three revenue collectors of the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) who were arrested last month for alleged financial impropriety have been charged, this paper has been reliably informed.

Sources said they are being charged with stealing at the Police Headquarters in Banjul and sent back to face trial in their various regions of posting.

Yaya Gibba, who was stationed in the Upper River Region, is reported to have pilfered D190, 320. Ansu Jarju who was stationed in the Western Region is alleged to have embezzled D119, 255, while Abdoulie Jane who was in the Lower River Region is reported to have stolen D211, 976.13.
