In a brief chat with Entertainment, Mamadi Billy Touray, Manager of Arch 22 Restaurant, said that although it is not as big as though, but is arguably one of the most sought eateries in the city of Banjul.

He said this ultra-modern restaurant is a hangout for those with taste for decency, value and class. Arch 22 restaurant offers delicious dishes to discerning guests in an admirable atmosphere, hitting their clientele hard in the pocket. “We also do outside catering,” he added.

It serves both local and international foods and it opens from 9 A.M to 1 A.M.

Profile of Billy Touray

Mamadi Billy Touray started his education at Ballarghar Primary School in the early seventies and later proceeded to Kaur Secondary School. Upon completing his secondary education, Mamadi Billy Touray joined The Gambia Hotel School in the early eighties. After graduating from the hotel school, he proceeded to Management Development Institute (MDI), and later to Holsi Hall Institute in the UK. In search of excellence, Mr. Touray proceeded to Konel University Hotel School in Holland.

From there, Mamadi Billy Touray worked for a period of six years while in the US.

Upon his return, he started working with the Atlantic Hotel in Banjul as a waiter where he rose to the position Deputy Food  & Beverage Manager. After couple of years, Mr. Touray and a friend opened a restaurant at the airport where he was a manager too. Six years later, he returned to the Atlantic Hotel as Service Manager.

In 2005, Billy Touray resigned from the Atlantic Hotel and decided to open his own restaurant, Arch 22 Restaurant, in Banjul.
