Another Gambian Player in Swedish First Division League

Alagie Sosseh is a Swede of Gambian origin plying his trade with Hammarby IF, a first division side in the Swedish Allsvenskan first division league.

Born on 21 July 1986, Sosseh is currently in his fourth season with the club after joining them in 2006.

During his first appearance for the club, Alagie played for the club nine times and recorded 6 goals.

In 2007, out of ten appearances, he scored four goals.

According to sources, the player has never played for Sweden and this could be good news for The Gambia.

Hammarby IF were Swedish champions in 2001 and UEFA Intertoto Cup champions in 2007.

The team also participated in 2002/03 champion’s league, European Cup-winners Cup in 1983/84, and have over the years participated in the UEFA cup and in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
