Alleged Theft Case in Progress

Mr. Biran Jallow a revenue collector posted to Latrikunda Sabiji NAWEC Branch has on the 29th of April 2009 testified at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Kumba Sillah Camara as a prosecution witness 8 in the ongoing criminal trial involving one Fatou Jassey Colley, a chief cashier working with Arab Gambia Islamic Bank. Mrs Colley was alleged of stealing from NAWEC account, a charge she denied.

Mr. Biran Jallow, PW8, told the court that in the year 2008, he was working as a revenue collector at NAWEC. He adduced that after collecting the money from the customer he counted the money and put it into a deposit slip indicating Arab Gambia Islamic Bank.

Mr Jallow further revealed that to his surprise, he was called by his boss who instructed him to go to Banjul Police Station to give his statement in this case, adding that he met the accused at the said Police Station, and the police asked him about the exhibits and he showed it to them.
