One Muhammed Ceesay who was charged with the offence of being in possession with an implement purposely for forgery was on 27th May 2009, exonerated by the Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided by Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara.
The Presiding Magistrate in delivering her judgement stated that the accused person was charged with the offence of being in possession of an implement for forgery, adding that the prosecution called two witnesses in support of their case while the defense called only one witness. She added that the evidences of prosecution witnessed are unreliable and inconsistence. She further stated that she finds it as a matter of fact that the prosecution witnesses are not telling the truth and had failed to link the accused to the offence. She said that the prosecution had woefully failed to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt as the burden of proof lies on the prosecution.
She consequently acquitted and discharged the accused person.
