One Omar Touray recently pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing when he appeared before Magistrate Fred Foster of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing a bicycle.
According to the particulars of the offence, on 19th July 2009 at Brikama Santosu, the accused Omar Touray stole a bicycle valued at D1,000, being the property of one Amadou Jallow.
Cpl Camara, the prosecuting officer objected to bail on ground that the accused was known to be a big trouble maker. He said this was the fourth time the accused was appearing in court and if granted bail he would commit another offence.
Meanwhile, the objection was overruled and the accused was subsequently granted court bail in the sum of D5,000 with two Gambian sureties.
The case was adjourned to 8h August 2009.
