Africell Fans Club holds set-setal

Africell Fans Club in Essau village in the Lower Niumi District of the North Bank Region (NBR), on Saturday held a massive cleansing exercise of the village health centre and its environs. The exercise was part of the monthly Operation Clean The Nation initiated by the Gambian leader, President Yahya Jammeh.

Speaking at the event, the secretary general of the club, Mr. Pa Ebrima Touray, said the club was established in 2006, to achieving sound environment policies. According to him, the fans club has registered large membership in Essau and that the idea of forming it emerged from the popularity the company enjoys in the village, which is mainly due to its Sunday Jere-Jeff bonus for its customers whom made it possible for his team to participate and win last year’s football tournament.

For his part, Fabakary Sonko, the Alkalo of Essau village who also doubles as an adviser to the club expressed sincere gratitude to the Africell company for agreeing to associate with his villagers.
