Gambian actress publishes book

Miss Matty Jobe, a sprouting Gambian actress is set to release her newly published book, “Miss English’’. The book deals with the art of writing, expressions, spellings, grammar and other common abnormalities in our daily usage of the English Language.

Matty Jobe endeavours to give a distinction between the American and British usage of the English language in terms of both spellings and expressions. She laid emphasis on the need for adherence to a particular style, either the American or Bristish in the use of language.

“The book is very educative, informative and entertaining,’’ the beauty queen cum actress and writer told Arts and Culture in recent a chat.
According to her, writing is part of her life, something she developed at a very tender age. Matty Jobe revealed that she has written many articles, poems, songs and other important stories.

Commenting on the Gambian beauty and movie industry, she expressed a deep sense of optimism over what she called the unprecedented development in the country’s beauty and  movie industry.

“I want to raise the Gambian flag high in the world of beauty and modelling, especially acting. All that the industry needs is massive support from the general public,” she said.
The beauty queen recalled her early days in school, where she acquired and developed the art of writing and reading. She added that she did science in school, but after school she was attracted to the world of writing and acting.

Matty Jobe called on the general public, especially The Gambia government, the private sector and individuals, to extend helping hands to the country’s movie indutry. Miss Jobe described the industry as an important player in the socio-economic, political and human development of the country.
