Please, allow me space in your newspaper to echo the points discussed on your editorial column, as published in your Tuesday edition. I wholeheartedly agree with the fact that the call of the president deserves overwhelming response from the people of The Gambia, considering what these farms we are talking about stand for Gambians.
As someone who benefited from His Excellency’s benevolent gesture, in the form of sponsorship, I know what it feels like coming from a family that is not privileged enough to take care of my educational requirements. If it were not for the innovativeness of this esteemed man of a leader of ours, I would just be one of those dying with empty hope.
There are many people out there who share similar situation like me. I believe if income avenues like the proceeds that come from Kanilai are sustained, many of these people, if not all of them, will some day have their day. So, I wish to join calls to urge Gambians and non-Gambians alike to give a helping hand to the president in his endeavour to create equal opportunity for all, regardless of who we are. Thank you.
