At least 345 Senegalese students, including officials from Senegal, last Friday paid a visit to the Inspector General of police, Mr. Ensa Badgie, at the police headquarters in Banjul. The aim was to strengthen the relationship between the two sister countries. The students were said to be on their annual summer holiday, commonly known as VACANS, in The Gambia. She said most of the children present have parents that are service men and women that is “why we make our trip to your office to say hello to you and your personnel.” “As IGP said, The Gambia and Senegal are all the same people, the same family almost the same culture so we feel we were in our homes still,” she said.
