Alleged Cattle Rustling Remanded on Bail

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate John Njie on Monday granted court bail to one Bamba Bah in the sum of D100, 000 for alleged cattle wrestling. He denied the charge.

Count one, the alleged offence revealed that in the year 2007 at Brikama, the accused Bamba Bah stole seven heads of cattle valued at D35, 000 being the property of Aja Nyima Tunkara.

On count two, he was alleged to have stolen three heads of cattle in the year 2007 valued at D15, 000 being the property of one Biba Tunkara. He was further charged on count three for stealing two heads of cattle valued at D14, 500 being the property of one Bambo Dukureh. The offence on count four stated that in the year 2007 at Brikama he stole five heads of cattle valued at D25, 000 being the property of one Banta Tunkura. And on count five, he was alleged that in the year 2007 at Brikama stole one head of cattle valued at D6, 000 being the property of one Saikou Ceesay. While on count Six, he was alleged to have stolen two heads of cattle valued at D12, 000, the property of one Bintou Conteh.

The case was adjourned until 4th September 2008.
