Johannesburg! Johannesburg! What an indication of barbaric mentality? What a shame the people of this great land placed on Africans! What a disappointment of the entire black race. Why is the general understanding of the black populace adverse? How can we accept and inculcate decency in our minds to the merit of our future generation?
Until we accept each other as brothers and sisters from the same womb, until the origin of one African is of no significance to the origin of another, until the varieties of our cultures, beliefs and values are put into one big container, guaranteeing one blood, one flesh; until these are accepted and established, we will forever remain segregated by virtue of our origin, culture, language, and our urge for materialism. This is the unique message.
South Africa is one of the few African countries that last emerged from the battle for freedom of black Africa. It is a nation that many freedom fighters in Africa fought for, joined voices for, thus gaining freedom and marked the end of the ‘Apartheid era’, leaving the likes of the city of Soweto with happiness and glory.
My question is: why have you not rejected the assistance of your brothers in your long run battle for freedom?
Remember! The people of Zimbabwe are facing similar trouble, although political, which forced them to seek refuge in your land.

Editor’s Note:
Thank you Mr. Dukuray. As an Ethio-Kenyan living in this country and with three Gambian children, I very much welcome your sentiments. Contrast what is happening in South Africa with the views of President Jammeh on the pages of this paper today. We make homes in Europe and America and yet we attack each other when Africans make homes in other African countries. It is indeed a shame.
