Responding to President Jammeh’s back to the land call, the Nianija Kawral Association, spearheaded by Hon Seedy SK Njie, nominated member of the National Assembly, has secured farm lands in over 30 villages in the Nianija Constituency.
Over the weekend, Hon. Njie travelled to Chamen Nianija, where he had a meeting with over 200 youths of the association.
The meeting, according to report, was centered mainly around the association’s state of preparedness for this year’s farming activities, as the rainy season approaches.
Hon. Seedy Njie called on the youths to go back to the land, in response to the president’s call, in their own drive to attaining food self sufficiency.
He advised them to work hard, to be united and to exercise discipline at all times.
Hon. Njie and Fatou Lamin Faye, Secretary of State for Basic and Secondary Education, were each given a farm land in Nianija.
Abdoulie Gano, Youth leader, Momodou Lamin Jallow, Arafang Cham and Lamin Njie, Secretary General, all expressed their willingness to go back to the land.
