Peter Bonu Johnson’s resignation

Editor,

Kindly allow me space in your great medium to add my comments to the resignation of Peter Bonu Johnson, by far the most successful Gambian coach from a results standpoint.

Given that Bonu just acquired the highest license in Football coaching at the expense of the GNOC (I stand to be corrected) makes this a no brainer. The allegations in his resignation letter are serious enough for the FA to come out and address the situation.

At the same time, the FA should find a way to reach out to Bonu and sit in a dialogue to work out their differences in the interest of the nation. Bonu Johnson is a highly acclaimed coach and we stand to loose him for something that can be fixed.

This is crunch time for the new coach and realistically the least he needs at this crucial moment in his preparation is distraction. Therefore, I appeal to the FA to once again open up just like they did in the Ken Jammeh case and let’s fix this. Like Obama, WE CAN! Finally we must all realize that The Gambia is what is at stake here and we must do whatever it takes for Mother Gambia and if it should take sitting down with Coach Johnson then we should. Remember this is the same Coach whose wife and kids were visited by a mob, following a loss in Canada; he did not quit then, why now? Respectfully,

Mindorr Mama.
