Bakoteh Annex to Organise Islamic Conference

Oustass Aboubacarr Ceesay, the senior Quranic teacher at Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School in Region One of Kanifing Municipal council, has said that his school will organise the 4th edition of the annual Islamic conference. Oustass Ceesay revealed this to The Point in an interview conducted at the school.                                   According to him, the preacher at the conference will be Oustass Ba-Kawasu who is often on GRTS radio’s weekly Islamic Forum Programme. He will speak on the topic, “The Importance of Islam in Our Society.” The conference will be held on the 30th of May at the school premises and will commence at 3pm.

Mr. Ceesay called on the Muslim umma within KMC to attend the conference for the sake of Islam. He also called on the parent teacher association committee members and all parents whose children attend the school to attend the important conference.

He said that some of the children will recite the Quran before the conference commences.

It will be recalled that the Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School held their last annual Islamic conference on the 12th of June 2007. The guest speakers were the Imam of the State House Mosque Alhagie Abdoulie Fatty and the senior lecturer at the

University of The Gambia Dr.
Omar Jah who called for discipline in schools.
