The No 1 Sport Shop in Banjul over the weekend make a presentation of a giant trophy and four footballs to National Inter-departmental Sports Association as part of its contribution to the success of the sixth edition of the inter-departmental football championship which kicked off last night.
Akram Shour, proprietor of Sports Shop, said the gesture is part of his objective to contribute to the promotion and development of Gambian sports.
“Its a pleasure to make such a gesture to NISA in my appreciate of good work in the country,” he said.
“I always say it. Without the existence of such sports associations in the country, my business will not grow. Therefore, helping sport associations is helping my self my business indirectly.”
Receiving the items, Pastor Joseph, member of NISA executive committee, thanked the sport shop for fulfilling its social responsibility. He noted that the gesture could not have come at a better time when the association’s annual football tournament has just commenced.
