Accept this change

Editor,

Permit me to start my deposition with this quote: “change is the instrument for moving to the next level of life, it is an encounter that opens you up for the better aspect of what is yet untried and untested”.

All over the world there has been continues cry and clamor for change; even the atmosphere blows with the wind of change. But the recent election nomination race for the White House has greatly blown this trumpet of change that the whole world’s attention has been drawn to see whether or not the change will eventually be born.

The issue of change is necessary and continues at different level. For example it was change that brought the African American out of the domination of racism and segregation, into a platform of equality.

It was change that made Blacks and Whites to get married and raise children as families, regardless of racial background. It was change that cause Blacks and Whites all over the world to unite and see each other as one and fight for one cause.

This is true because in the beginning, it was not so.America is one nation that has had a very rich and motivational history on both side of the black and white divide, and change has always occurred at every point to bring this powerful nation to a new level. Most a time, changes come with some levels of discomfort or pain, but are only temporal.

For example, the change that occurred in the 60s was possible because two heroes saw the necessity and paid the painful price. The result was the assassination of President JF Kennedy and Dr Martin Lutherking Jnr.

I believe that America is about to experience another level of success that has never been seen before, that is why they have to embrace this era of change – welcoming the new and be open to the unseen, untried and untested.

As John F Kennedy once said: “change is the law of life”. In other words only those that obey this law will experience an up thrust in life, while those who refuse to yield, and remain stiff to change, will be left behind. The acceptance of change is the beginning of wisdom and progress, the refusal of change is the beginning of foolishness, failure and setback.

It is often said that time and tide waits for nobody, but I choose to rephrase it as, time and tide waits for nation. Change comes with a package of blessings which can only be accessed or received by those who are ready for it. Let’s take a clue from the Gambia.

What would have become of this country if there had not been a change? What would have been pf this country if President Jammeh had refused to stand up to this change? Probably, the Gambia would still have been in the dark, struggling in the hand of underdevelopment, poverty and ignorance.

In this regard, I believe that change is a call from above, change comes with radicalism, and it comes with a revolution necessary for the progress of the entire nation. It carries vision and mission that has to be captured, pictured and eventually to be featured.

The man or woman pioneering the change is not the change; he/she is only an instrument of change. That is why they are unstoppable. Don’t you know that behind every radical revolution there is an inspired revelation? He is a messenger with a message, a prophet sent to profit the people. He is the one sent to inspire the people so they will not expire with the old ideologies and mentality.

Forty sixty years ago, an instrument of change was given birth to by the union of an African man and a white American woman, little did they know that they were fulfilling the prophesy for a change. Today this instrument of change has become one of the strongest voices in America’s politics (it takes agreement to make a positive change).

This instrument has become one of the most powerful African-Americans of our time, a political strategist, an orator and an unstoppable force of change. I believe that is why he said: “what began as whisper has become an image that cannot be ignored”. He is currently running with a picture for a desirable future and I stand to say that this man is not running alone, he is running with divine backing to bring America to a new level, as declared in prophecy. America has seen and tested the good, but it is time to experience the best.

The Gambia is presently growing to be a major attraction in Africa and beyond because they were open to change that president Jammeh’s instrument of change came with. Americans should accept the change that Senator Barrack Obama is coming with. I declare that you see and experience something greater than what you have seen or heard in history. America, please accept this change.
