Will the Big Names Bounce Back ?

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

The first round of the Gambia Football Association national first Division league has just ended with  lots of interesting games being played. The league this year has  been rated by many as the best season so far as there is no under dog team.

Taking  at a look at  the teams this year especially Samger, they dashed a very impressive and promising performance.

Samger FC dominated the whole first round, after beating some of the big teams in the league this year, they gained  promotion to the first division league this year. Samger played 11 games in the first round won 6 drew 3 lost 2 and scored 10 goals  and conceeded   7 goals. They are currently on 21 points.

The system that the  Academy Boys play, 3-4-3,   has shown that the team is really in tact and well organised but the question is  will they defend that momentum in the second round?

Teams like  Real, Sait Matty, Wallidan, Hawks   and others are expected to bounce back in the second round taking the fact that the margin between them and Samger is very narrow especially with Real de Banjul who are two points behind them.

The second is expected to be very competitive one. Bottom place teams like Interior and Bakau United will have to redouble their efforts to avoid relegation.
