Underground Soldiers, another upcoming group of artists in the hip-hop rap block are working tirelessly to hit the music scene.Currently they are busy working to release their debut album.
The group comprises of two brothers namely, Mustapha Gibba aka Fatah age 25 and Papis Gibba aka Redeem Killa age, 23.
Speaking to What’s On, recently Fatah, one of the lead vocalists revealed that after years of hard work on the ground, they are set to record their hit album dedicated to Kunta Kinteh and the late Mustapha Jammeh aka MJ.
MC Fatah added that, the late MJ was the first producer who edited and recorded their first single called ‘Domi Jisleh’ in 1998, at the Bulldorf Recording Studio.
“This is why we want to dedicate this album to him for being the first person to encourage and give us support. His support to the development and promotion of Gambian music was unprecedented. He stood firm to make sure that the young upcoming artists in The Gambia are endeavour to make it in the music industry. Really Gambian artists especially the upcoming ones cannot pay back the good work done,’’he said.
According to him, the late MJ will ever remain in the hearts of Gambian artists and show-biz promoters at large.
