PW1 Testifies in Manslaughter Trial

One Alhagie Ndow, Prosecution Witness 1, testified recently in the manslaughter trial involving one Setapha Marra of Wellingara.

Mr Ndow told the Bundung Magistrates’ Court that on 28th December 2008, he was at Wellingara, at 4.00a.m to visit a friend called Pa Manjang whom he met spreading a carpet and he assisted him. He told the court that after some minutes one Abdoulie Ceesay came into the room and took out a tin of milk under the chair, and went with it outside the room.

Mr. Ndow further told the court that, the disease Abdoulie suddenly rush into the room, whiles he held his neck, bleeding severely. He said the decease fall down shortly after some minute then he died and he informed the accused accordingly. PW1 said when he asked the accused as what has transpired between him and the decease, he said the accused told him that the decease stole his milk, adding that the accused walk into the room to see the decease and he confirm that he was dead.

 It could be recalled that the accused is standing trial for the offence of manslaughter, a charge he denied.
