Alleged Fuel Thief Charged

One Saikou Ceesay who was alleged to have stolen gas oil was last Tuesday arraigned before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

The alleged offence revealed that on 22ndSeptember 2008 at Jambang Jailly village the accused Saikou Ceesay stole 34 drums of 20-litre gallon of gas oil valued at D21,760, being the property of one Ousman Jabang.

When the charge sheet was read to him and explained to him in the language he claims to understand he pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile he was granted court bail in the sum of D30,000 with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned until 6thNovember 2006.
