Future of Gambia’s Female Football

Women are into sports as their male colleagues. This young lady has been terrific in the last season of the Gambia Football Association Female League . She scored 8 goals to become top scorer in the 2007 GFA female 1st Division league. She is captain of Eastern Lions, a club she helped to finish 4th in the 2007 season. The midfielder celebrated her 17years birthday December 25, 2007.

Throughout her footballing career, she has been at Eastern Lions 1st division team.

While at Eastern Lions, Veronic played for St Charles as a midfielder, and Abuko Upper Basic School as team captain.

At Gambia Senior Secondary School, she became the best striker clinching the leading goal scorer of the just ended Nite life female tournament with 12 goals, and awarded the best player as well.

Veronic’s father, Omar Malack, gives her all the necessary encouragement she needs in football.

She is currently part of the Female selection of the Gambia Football Association Female Football team geared towards the formation of a female national team.
