A delegation from The Gambia Athletics Association (GAA) to the 11th World Athletics Championship in Osaka, Japan left Banjul yesterday morning at 9.00am.
The Gambian delegation is led by GAA President Fred Evans Lloyd and comprises of Dodou Capi Joof Secretary General of GAA and council member for Africa and two athletes.
The two athletes, Ansu Sowe and Miss Fatou Tiyana, would compete in the men’s 1500 meters and Women’s 100 meters respectively.
While in Osaka, Japan, Fred Evans and Capi Joof would also attend the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) congress.
It could be noted that the Osaka championship would be help from August 25 to September 2, 2007.
