British High Commissioner inspects Campama work project

The new appointed British High Commissioner to the Gambia, Mr. Philip Sinkinson together with the Commanding Officer of the Gibraltar Regiment, Colonel John Perez, on Friday February 16, inspected works carried out at the Campama Psychiatric Hospital by 20 Gambia Armed Forces Assault pioneers working for the last 10 days with the Gibraltar Regiment who are currently on a visit to the Gambia.

According to a press statement issued from the British High Commission in the Gambia, Dr Malick P Njie, Chief Medical Director of RVTH, received the delegation on behalf of Dr Tamsir Mbowe, Secretary of State for Health and Social Welfare. The released added that, the delegation were taken on a conducted tour of the general tidying up with work that includes clearing the ground in preparation for installation of a vegetable garden; clearing and repainting of basketball courts; installation of mosquito netting to window frames; removal of broken equipments and specialist removal of asbestos roofing material by BJ Builders.

The occasion was graced by Lt Col Peter Singhateh, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) The press statement noted that, the Gibraltar Regiment has also shipped a container to the Gambia, which contained beds, mattresses amongst other important items for Campama.
