Gamtel Security Chief under microscope

Mr Ebou Corr, Chief Security of the Gambia Telecommunication Company (Gamtel), has been dismissed from his post, with effect from last month, following an alleged theft of 15,000 litres of fuel from the said company, the Daily Observer can reveal.

However, Mr Corr, has denied the dismissal allegation, saying “am not yet dismissed. I was asked to stay home, pending the outcome of investigations”.

According to sources, Mr Corr was suspected to have allegedly stolen 15,000 litres of fuel, after his indictment by an internal audit report of the communication company, causing him to receive his matching orders since last month.

A senior official told the Daily Observer that Mr Corr, is alleged to have stolen the sum, but he is currently under investigation.

The official also confirmed that Mr Corr has been asked to stay away from work, pending the outcome of investigations.
