The Gambia Special Olympics team which left Banjul recently to attend the SO WORLD SUMMER GAMES 2007 in Shanghai, China, have registered an outstanding performance for the Gambia after winning 2 gold medals, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze and 3 Ribbons, Pointsport was reliably informed.
Four athletes namely; Jamilatou Jallow, Yaya Bah, Mariama Fatty and Nuha Sanneh represented The Gambia in the just concluded competition.
Jamilatou Jallow and Yaya Bah both won the two gold medals in Long jump and secured a Silver and Bronze medal respectively in the 100M category.
Mariama Fatty grabbed two ribbons in both events while Nuha Sanneh picked a single ribbon in the 100M.
