The prosecution had established its case against one Cherno Bah and Ebrima Ceesay and the duo was consequently convicted and sentenced to pay a D3000 court fine or risk going to jail for six months.
They were also ordered to pay a compensation of D10, 000 to the victim of their action or spend another six months in jail and the sentences would run concurrently.
Cherno and Ousman were found guilty of stealing a gear box and a fuel pump valued at D18, 000.
Meanwhile according to magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh, presiding, the duo should be forced to confront the consequences of their action as a deterrent to other members of the criminal community, emphasizing the dignity of labour that the two men chose to ignore.
