-US Charge d’ Affaires

As the United States of America recently marked the 6th anniversary of the bombing of the Twin Towers in New York, US Charge d’ Affaires in The Gambia, Mr. Bachman, told The Point in an exclusive interview that Osama Bin Laden remains the intellectual author of the attack. He maintained that his country would continue its efforts to track him down and bring him to justice. “We will continue to track him down and one day he will make a mistake and we will catch him and bring him to justice,” he said.

According to Mr. Bachman, Osama Bin Laden and his allies have lost the ability to move freely in the world, and are living in hiding.  He contrasted their situation to that of the many Muslims living peacefully in the United States cheek by jowl with other religious denominations.

Asked why the US has failed to apprehend the key suspect, Bin laden, the Charge d’Affaires attributed this to the intricacy of the area in which he is hiding, which he said made it very difficult to catch him.

He finally called on all to join hands to fight the menace of international terrorism.
