Dr Saja Taal removed

Dr ABS Taal, part-time Political Science Lecturer at the University of The Gambia, has been relieved of his duties as the Managing Director of the Observer Company Ltd, publisher of the Daily Observer newspaper.

Dr Taal, was handed his termination letter yesterday, while at work in his office. Dr Taal joined the Daily Observer in 2005, following the removal of Momodou Sanyang, who was alongside removed with Lamin Cham, the then Editor-in-Chief and Sports Editor of the Daily Observer.

Meanwhile, this paper has gathered that Dida Halake, the Book Review Columnist of the Daily Observer, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief and will  oversee the day-to-day administration of the company. Mr Halake has a long-standing history of contributing to the editorial contents of the Daily Observer
